    Cool!

My advice is not to think too much about it. Stay cool, and answer the questions truthfully. If your marriage is genuine, and your relationship with your spouse is strong and evident, you will be just fine. We all make mistakes, so staying without authorization shouldn't be a problem during your interview, unless the sole purpose of the marraige is to get GC.

        Congrats on your pregnancy!

I am a US Citizen and my husband was here on a visitor's visa. Last May we were married and in June we filed the I-485, I-30, I-795, etc. We had a few small bumps in the road (we moved and they lost some of our paperwork) but we just had our Adjustment of Status Interview yesterday and it went great. This is what happened:

We went to the court building in Los Angeles, CA. We put our 797-C form for the interview appointment in a tray at Window 1. Then we waited for about 15 minutes. Then they called my husband's name and we met with this Officer (his name was Eric) and he said he would be conducting our interview today. Before we sat he asked us to raise our right hand and swear that we were telling the truth in all the statements we were about to give. Then we sat down. He said the first thing he needed was our IDs. I gave him my CA Driver's license and my husband gave him his passport. He asked me if I had a passport and I said no, not yet. He took them and made copies (I had also brought copies of all our documents just in case). Then he asked my husband questions like what are his parent's names. Where was he born? When was the last time he entered into the US and at what port? When my husband answered he just made a little red mark to verify that the information on our forms were correct. He asked to look at the originals for our birth certificates and our marriage certificate. He checked them against what was in the file. He also asked if we had ever been married before or if we had any children. My husband said "not yet!" which made me give him a funny look and the Officer laughed. Then he asked me how long we had known each other and how we met. He asked my husband when we decided to get married and then we told the story of how we got engaged. He said it was a very nice story. Then he asked if we had a small wedding. We said yes. He asked if we had any documentation such as joint bank statements, bills etc. We had bank statements, electricity bills and something from my work showing that my husband had medical insurance through my employer and also we had car insurance showing that I am an authorized driver on his car. The Officer asked if he could keep the copies. We said yes. Then he asked if we had any photos. We had 2 small albums. He looked at all the photos but didn't comment on any. Then he printed 2 pieces of paper and stamped them. He said he would be back with the copies but at that point we didnt know what they were. He came back and gave us the originals. One form was showing that my husband was approved as a Permanent Resident and the other form showed us the date (1 year and 9 months from the day before our interview) he could apply for his 10 year Residency. We thanked him and shook hands and he wished us luck on everything.

I hope this helps you and anyone else who is nervous. I was nervous and reading other people's experiences helped with that. Good luck! Be yourself
