  • Feb 2019 Filer NYC

Hi I’ve been married for 9 years to my husband who is American citizen by birth we’ve been together for 11 years and we have 5 children together ages 8,7,6,5 and 4 years old. We’ve had some financial struggles , some DV against me and was uneducated about the process of filing for my legal status but we took my family’s help and February 2019 we filed adjustment of status. I have a social security card issued to me in 2014 but it’s restricted for work purpose and has it on my card. March 8th 2019 I did my biometric interview and March 11th my online USCIS account updated stating fingerprints were completed. I have not heard anything but I frequently get texts stating we’re reviewing your case we will notify you when status changes. I’m also located in NY but my I485 is being reviews in NBC lee summit and there’s no information on their website concerning how long I485 takes. I’ve been so anxious to get my work authorization and to obtain legal status . I’ve been in the country since I was 13 yrs old and my whole entire family have become us citizens and have not tried to help me get legal status. i also called USCIS a week ago and they told me that NYC field office have my case which would take about 20 months. I've had troubles posting from my iphone and my ipad so if i don't respond right away it just means my devices doesn't let me

    thank you

First, did you submit I-765 for Employment Authorization? Second, I-485 are processed at local offices, not at NBC. I-765 and I-131 are processed at NBC. Processing time for EAD is 5-7 months, if you filed for it. If you did not, you still can for free by sending in the I-765 along with you I-797C for your I-485. To find out estimated processing time for your I-485, look under your local office, which you indicated on your I-485.

I filed for I765 also and still nothing so far. It’s so stressful waiting for some kinda answer. My local office that’s handling my case in NY and it’s processing time is 24 months

Hope you get some response soon. Hang in there, u have been married so long, if things r still the same u will get a 10 yr green card n it will be worth the wait. I filed around March n still no sign of receipts.
