  • Please stop wasting your time with USCIS level 1 rep + EAD being on hold

So after 201 days waiting for my EAD, I was finally able to talk to a tier 2 rep about it. Apparently, my EAD has been on hold since March 4th and LITERALLY no one has told me nor have I received anything about this. I've called USCIS and spoken to at least 5 tier 1 reps SPECIFICALLY asking if my application is on hold for any reason, they all said no, the application is still being worked on. I know that tier 1 reps don't have access to a lot of information but that doesn't make it ok for them to give us the wrong information.
So everyone who wants to call USCIS for case inquiries, unless its something straightforward like address changes, please ask to be transferred to a tier 2 rep or you'll just be wasting your time. Side note: the tier 2 rep I spoke to today was very nice, he helped me escalate my expedition request and told me my EAD is on hold.

I once saw someone on this forum whose EAD was put on hold too so this is not just me, if anyone has experience with EAD being on hold or has information on what to do about it, I'd really appreciate if you share because I'm very confused and worried right now

And he gave you no reason to why it was on hold and what your next steps should be. Really this is a disgrace. The US system really baffles me. There communication is awful.

Did u just ask to talk with a tier 2 and they let you??

I think it's not the representative's fault but NBC, the one who's working on my case. On March 5th (the day since which my I-765 been put on hold) they sent me an RIFE for my I-130 (which I already solved) so my guess is when they found out that they needed something for I-130, they put my I-485 and I-765 on hold as well and when they received my respond to RIFE, they reopened I-485 and I-130 again but somehow forgot about I-765.

Yeah, call the regular number and ask to be transferred to tier 2 representative, they'd call you back in several hours, in my case 2 hours and 50 mins.

not really, unfortunately it's friday so there's nothing much to do. I've submitted an ombudsman request, your case is out of processing time, you should consider this too.

of course not, it's the regular number for USCIS customer service (800) 375-5283, you'll have to talk to a regular representative first then ask them to transfer you to tier 2 representative.

How can i speak to a tier 2? My Father’s case has been reopened and mine hasnt been yet. We filed the same thing. Adjustment of status. I was trying to get an infopass appointment because before this we spoke to an officer but they wouldn’t give us due to invalid reason. Its so hard waiting for nothing
