  • Filing for AOS (I-485 + I-765 +AP)

    Hi All,

I am preparing to file for AOS(i-485 + i-765 +AP).I am in F2A category with PD May 2018.
I will be applying to USCIS Chicago office and my field office is Detroit.

Can anyone tell where does my I-485 and I-765 will be processed.?
I am bit confused ,coz when i check the processing timing page of USCIS,i get to see different list of i-485 and i-765.

Okay.I understand that my i-765 will be processed at NBC and i-485 wil be processed at my local office which is Detroit office.
But i couldn't find any info in USCIS website where it says that i-765 will be processed at NBC.Just making sure.

I reason i am trying to make things clear is because,if i-765 is processed at NBC it will be bit delayed and if it is at my local office(Detroit) it is fast, i heard so.

Yea I searched for a long time also and couldn’t find any. I asked a few ppl on here and they told me NBC does the EAD and AP. I confirmed this when I was on the phone to USCIS

I did see on here that in occasions they transfer cases to different office but you will get notified if this happens to you. I think now is a good time to transfer if they aren’t able to keep up with the work. I’m waiting over 7 months for my EAD and AP

That is a long wait.Even the processing time in USCIS website for NBC currently says 6.5 to 8.5 months.
It would be great if they do i-765 also in local office like they do i-485,so they can reduce the backlog.

They only changed it to 6.5 months and 8.5 months on Friday. It could go up again by the time they are finished
