Hello all.
Im writing here to ask people that had pending I-485 based on marriage and asked for help the state senator.
I wrote e-request and I have to fill out a paper asking the senator office to help me find out the status of my case and why it’s taking so long for them to take a decision. I also want to ask the senator to expedite my case.
Briefly, I have pending I-485 based on marriage since 05/03/2018. Our interview was on 03/13/2019 and the officer said we should receive a notice within 30-45 days. Here we are, almost 3 months later and haven’t heard from them.
I called USCIS a lot of time but nobody has been helpful at all. The last time they even refused to give me information because they couldn’t verify my parents name???!!!!!! I was extremely frustrated and filed e-service request. I was supposed to receive an answer by today but again no notice. So I finally sent a request for help to the senator of my state to help me find why my case has been taking so long and expedite it.
So now I have to fill out a request and explain why I want my case to be expedite. That’s why I’m writing here, I need advise.
The reason why is that I want to travel to my home country (I have EAD+TP) but a lawyer adviced me not to travel because we passed the interview and if for any reason they decide to deny our case I’ll have to apply overseas and it’ll take forever and we’ll have to pay all the fees again. So how to explain that to the senator and why I want my case to be expedite? Is there anything you’d advise?
