Did you ask if you can do it when you have a later date or did you just show them the letter and ID? Most (all) of the times I have read people asking, they told is not possible, those that only show the letter and ID can do it (most of the time but not always).

Are there any June filers who are still waiting for their checks to be cashed/to receive a notice for biometrics? We filed through our lawyer on the 4th June and have heard nothing, and the money is still in our account. We filed from Pennsylvania to the Chicago office. Our lawyer said it is now taking 30+ days for some people, but the wait is making us nervous, especially as everyone else seems to be hearing really quickly!

I had a very similar experience in Portland, OR. I tried a walk-in a week ago, they let me in the building and there were so many people waiting, a lot of people! I just waited there and heard the officer telling someone to go back as her appointment is tomorrow not today and she has to wait until her appointment as this is the service center busiest week in the year! So I just left and decided to go on my appointment, which is the 11th! Just 3 more days!

I'm a May filler, from NY.

I tried walk-in biometrics 1 week early from my appointment date in The Bronx and took me exactly 10 mins from the moment I got in til got out. No questions asked and everyone was very friendly. Actually, I let them know that my appointment was scheduled 1 week later, even though I was able to do it.

Definitely it will depend on the field office and probably whether they are too busy or not. So I wouldn't take for granted that any specific office will do it or not. Just give it a try.

No, sometimes they update and sometimes they don't. Nothing to worry about.

I heard the same as enub4 that sometimes they update, but sometimes don't. I would not worry about it as long as you have the biometrics paper stamped. that would be your own record if anything.

H! June filer here. I485 based on k1 visa was delivered to the Chicago lockbox on June 22. Nothing since then. I’ve just checked my application - everything was in order, so have no idea why it takes so long. My visa expires in early August and I’m really concerned. I contacted a lockbox support via email - no response yet. The USCIS contact center wasn’t helpful, they don’t know where my case is. All they could do is to make an inquiry for me.
If i refile there is a risk of double cashing the fee. Idk what to do. Tier 1 operators said that normally it takes 10 days only to process the case and issue noa. Lockbox support says it’s 30 days. So confusing.

So we’re in the same boat, buddy.

Ugh that is so frustrating. My K1 visa expired at the end of June, so I'm in a grey area right now. Our attorney says appplications are taking 30 days+ to be processed, but we have been waiting almost six weeks now. It's making me so anxious. Our attorney is going to follow up with them if we've still heard nothing by Monday. I just checked again, and our checks still haven't been cashed. I hope we both hear something soon! Maybe Chicago just takes extra long to process? Their estimated timeframe for I485 issuing greencards is 12-34 months (insanely long!)
