EAD renewal form returned.

Hello I submitted form to renew EAD but they returned it saying I needed to include the fee? Do I have to pay again if I’m renewing the EAD? I thought I didn’t have to. I’m confused.

There are different EAD types, are yours AOS?
Did you include a copy of the I-485 NOA?

Yes mine is AOS and I never included a copy of the 485 NOA. I included a copy of my soon to expire EAD front and back. I thought that would do it. I have already been to the interview just waiting after RFE.

I think a copy of the 485 NOA is needed, I'm researching the topic because we may need to renew the EADs in a few months.

Found some info in the uscis site. EAD renewal for AOS does not require a fee but you have to submit a copy of the I485 notice of action. Page 23 of the pdf link below.

It looks like for EAD renewal, the following is needed:

• Form I-765 (selecting 'renewal' item 1.c)
• 2 color photographs
• Copy of current EAD (front and back)
• Copy of form I-797C (I-485 NOA)

The fee is $0. I guess if it is a combo card then form I-131 is also needed.
