  • Good news for applicants from location with long processing times?

USCIS will implement a national strategy to decrease differences in processing times based on location for Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status.

New York City (Manhattan) is probably the longest wait time. Hope they do this soon. I wouldn't mind going anywhere within the US for an interview if it means the process goes faster. Fingers crossed.

Well my attorney told me that the San Francisco Field Office has been interviewing March 2018 filers. The processing time for SF is about 18.5-21.5 months. So they are ahead of that estimated time. I’m so pumped and anxious since I’m a March2018 filer. So I’m gathering all my evidences now.

Need to wait and see how this pans out. But i did see a Brooklyn filer from April 2018 who said they received an interview notice, so maybe it is picking up! Fingers crossed guys.

          Fingers crossed!

For NYC, the interview is usually scheduled a year after the EAD approval. All in all it’s like 18-19 months. It’s frustrating.

We’ve been waiting since October 2017. What would be the closest office outside the Chicago area??

I also saw this and thought *maybe* it signaled good news. I wonder how it will be implemented? In Los Angeles, the wait for I-485 processing is currently at 10.5 -17 months. But just an hour away in San Bernardino, it's 7.5 months. But in San Fernando Valley (anywhere from 15 minutes to 60 minutes from Los Angeles) it's 16.5 Months to 22 Months.

Probably pool all case files within say 50-100-200 mile radius and evenly distribute them? Regardless of how they implement it, it would definitely help USCIS almost immediately by reducing workload almost everywhere in the country.

I guess we will all find out soon enough! Washington Post article on the change: https://www.washingtonpost.comhttps:...=.3bc6d9d2f795

"Though the shift is likely to reduce wait times in some of the busiest place — including St. Paul and Miami — it could lengthen the wait times in others, such as Cleveland and Providence, where applicants typically wait less than six months, according to an analysis this year by ********* Immigration, a company that guides immigration applicants."

So, this website is created and maintained by Indian folks. The words ILU = I love you. l am also from South Asia and can tell you that in many regions there, these words are not taken lightly and are considered almost a taboo.... uttering these words makes people shy, uneasy, and gives fuzzy feelings.
