  • Time between "Interview was Scheduled" and Date of Interview Online Update

    Hi all,

We got an "Interview was Scheduled" online notification on June 7th. We are away from home at the moment and wanted to find out the exact date of the Interview so we could be back on time.

I called USCIS and they let me know they don't have this information since the actual date of the interview has not been determined and the letter has not been sent out. They said this could take several weeks. However, reading through other forum posts, this seems very uncommon. I see most people get the online update, a letter a week (or less) later, and then the interview one month after that.

It's been 10 days. Since I'm not at home to receive the letter, what's the best way to find out my actual interview date? Will there be an online update that tells me the actual date or do I have to depend on the letter/USCIS calls?

    Thank you!

ewilliams I think you read the information wrong, sadclown said they actually got the status "Interview was Scheduled" not "ready to schedule".

sadclown you should have the notification letter with the date already on your mailbox (or waiting at the post office if they are holding your mail). You appointment should be around July 12-19. If you call USCIS and only talk with L1 officer, they will tell you there is no date in the system and you should wait for several weeks to get the date. You need to get the letter from your mailbox/post office or call again and talk with L2 officer, they should have access to your letter and date.

Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

I got the update on June 6th and by June 10th I received the letter. The interviews (according to my experience and what I have read with others) its a month after they sent you your actual letter. I tried calling to find out our interview date and they said I had to wait for the letter.

The letter takes 7 to 10 days and the date of the interview will be for approximately a month from the date you received the letter.

I've been waiting for an updated 3 month, since then it’s been "is ready to be scheduled" - I'm from Manhattan, how long it takes to change from ready to be scheduled to interview was scheduled?

I just got my EAD card 1 day ago.

Download the "Informed Delivery" App!!! It will give you a preview of what's coming to your mailbox. it's a really useful tool. My I-765 just got approved two days ago and I got a USCIS update today that my card was mailed to me, however I saw this morning that there is a USCIS letter to be delivered today.
