USCIS announced yesterday a new policy to even out i485 processing times. https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/us...-400-and-i-485
It's unclear if that applies to interviews - but I've seen some rumbling on various boards that people have already been asked to interview at a Field Office outside their jurisdiction, even before yesterday's announcement.
Has anyone experienced being interviewed at a FO outside your jurisdiction already?
I've found it puzzling that Los Angeles's processing time has gone down every single month (something like 13.5 months back in January to 10.5 months in June) - but EAD/AP processing has gone up significantly in the same period of time. A possible explanation would be that this policy was already being implemented which would have lowered LA's longer processing time, but would not have impacted the worsening EAD/AP times.
