  • Should I bring a new Medical Exam to my interview?

    Hello everyone,

We are gonna have my green card interview on July 17th after waiting for 2 and half years. My priority date is Jan 27th, 2017. In my original I-485 application, I already submitted the Medical Exam I 693. So I was wondering should a new one to show a officer?
On the interview letter, it write "A current Medical Examination (if not previously submitted or if no longer valid) performed by a doctor in the list of USCIS authorized physicians)". Since those examination is costly for me at this moment

I have read the new I693 policy on uscis website but those words confuse me a lot. . And I don't want without bring in a new one would take my process getting green card longer. I just was wondering if anybody can clarify this. Thank you very much!

So you sent the I693 with your I485 in Jan 2017? If yes, then the medical is no longer valid even with the new policy.
I think, if you don't bring a new medical form I693 the they will issue an RFE after your interview. I guess they can't approve the GC without a valid/current I693.
    Good luck.

I was supposed to go to the first interview on 2018 October but I missed it because I never received an interview letter so they denied me. It was a long process for me to convince them reopen it. I done it all by myself, no lawyer, didn't file The Motion to Reopen form. I went to see an officer and talk to them. I was lucky enough.

Now finally, they sent me a letter but no alert by email or the website. So I can't not imagine what is gonna happen if we move since last time we moved and I didn't receive anything until a denial letter came. It was really suck. I am from Houston, TX.

But the lucky thing is since it passed our 2 year anniversary, I am gonna get a 10 years green card.
