Hello everyone, I have a pending case with the USCIS since October 2017. Recently, I got a call from an Officer who introduced himself by name (Withheld) and demanded to speak with my husband (Petitioner) as he has questions for him.
After discussing the incident with our attorney mentioned the officer’s name, he told us that he’s a marriage fraud unit investigative officer with the USCIS and we have to be up and ready per our case.....I have never heard of that prior to now that a case would be labeled as fraud without an interview.
Has anyone been in a situation like what I described? My husband and I want to know what to expect and prepare for at this point.
    Thank you

I have read that they have the option to just deny the application if they suspect fraud even without interview. Also they can visit your home to see if you are living together or other things to make sure your marriage is real. Good luck.

This is incorrect. They can not deny an application on a mere suspicion of fraud.

Yes, sorry, I was referring to this information:
Today we posted a policy memorandum that provides guidance to USCIS adjudicators regarding their discretion to deny an application, petition, or request without first issuing a Request for Evidence (RFE) or Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID) when required initial evidence was not submitted or the evidence of record fails to establish eligibility.

          but doesn't apply to this.
