Applied for I-485 in the Us but would like to pursue application from Canada now

I applied for my I-485 (family based) from the Usa. My Father is now sick and I would like to continue the process from Canada (where I am from) so I can be with my Father while he is seeking treatment. My EAD card is now expired and I am waiting for the renewal but processing time takes now longer than ever and I probably won't get it before December (we are now in July and I applied for renewal in April). I need to go back to Canada now and will probably have to stay for 2-3 months. Could I transfer my application to a US embassy in Canada? If so, How can I do it?

If you abandon your I-485 you will need to restart the process from Canada. I recommend you speak to an immigration lawyer about your plans so he can give you your legal options.
