  • Ref for Medical after case (I-290 case was re-opened for reconsideration)

    Hi,

I went to my interview last year and my i130 was approved, but i485 was denied because officer said I didn’t verify I had been inspected. I submitted FOIA record of my inspection, but the denial letter said they didn’t know where I received it from. It had clearly came from CBP, but I guess the officer didn’t buy it. My lawyer filed a i290b explaining that cpb sent us the entry record. The case was reopened and I received a rfe for my medical again. What does this mean? Is this a good and does this mean I might get approved?

Likely a good news because if I had to guess, the medical they have on you has expired and want updated medical to approve your case.

I'm in a similar situation, I was initially denied my I-485 and after a long time and working with a lawyer, I was able to get my I-485 re-opened. Today I received a RFE for a new medical examination form I-693. I'm hoping this is the last thing needed to get my green card but I wanted to know roughly how long it would take for me to receive my green card. I'm trying to work again and I was debating whether to apply for another EAD card or wait for my GC to come in the mail, which would come faster?

I'd just like to update this for anyone who want to know about the timeline in a situation like this, I got my GC in the mail today. Roughly 2 months later from my RFE request I got my GC in the mail. I'd just like to thank this website and people on it for the great help and knowledge you've all provided. Thank you and best of luck in your visa journeys.
