No experience but from what I read it is normal that they will send you to secondary area to wait for an officer to update the system and parole you into the USA.
Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

Do not be nervous, and when you get back they might need to tale to other room to check your AP in their system and after that you are good to go.
I just just got back last month with no issue at all, enjoy your trip

I used my AP last March to fly to Asia. I overstayed my visa for a couple years.
Came back with my husband, so we went to US citizens line.
It was nerve racking, but very quick. Officer politely told me that we will be sent to secondary because they need to validate the combo card.
Went to the room and there was another person.
5minutes later, my name was called and paroled back in.
        Goodluck to you.

I’ve used AP twice so far... once when I got it through DACA and again recently.. both times I was with my USC husband... the first time we were in the PR line and this second time we went to the citizens line and there was no problem. The officers were very nice and yes you will be taken to the room for secondary inspection but the officers were relatively quick and courteous. Once they verify your combo card you’re free to go!
          DACA approved: 12/2014
          I-485, I-130, I-131, I-765 apps. sent: 6/28/2018

I-485- Case ready to be scheduled for an interview.: 8/1/2018

12/12/19- (email) GC being mailed to me notice received.
12/13/19- (email) USPS picked up card in mail.

Hey guys so I used my AP yesterday. No problems at all. They did take me aside into a different room. But they just checked my information, asked for my address then sent me on my way.
