Hi All,
I received a courtesy letter from USCIS asking to bring the I-693 medical evaluation forms to the interview. So I believe the interview appointment will be soon.
My medical exam was done in February 2019, and the civil surgeon signed the form on February 12, 2019. USCIS received my AOS application on February 21, 2019. I originally thought my medical had been submitted along with the AOS application, but apparently my lawyer forgot to include it and still have the sealed medical envelope in their office.
I know after November 1, 2018 USCIS changed the rule regarding I-693, but my case is a little different.
It says that the form is valid if the civil surgeon signs Form I-693 no more than 60 days before the applicant files the underlying benefit application with USCIS; and USCIS issues a decision on the underlying benefit application no more than 2 years after the date of the civil surgeon’s signature.
USCIS does not mention that the form needs to be submitted along with the AOS application. Since my form was signed in February, and AOS filed in February, I believe my form is valid for 2 years.
I just want to make sure that I understand this correctly.
Please share your thoughts on this. Thank you.
