Yes, i had the same feeling as yours when I was waiting for the decision, i had called several times to ask for the status of my expedite request but no answer. You can also research for many successful expedite request experience posted in the forum, they posted a detail guide how to reach out to Ombudsman, Congressman to have them following up your case, making inquiry or even creating new expedite request if the first one is denied.

                    Hello, need some help
Yesterday I received a RFE for the affidavit of support, last year my husband did not work a lot so he did not meet the requirement, so I use all of his pay stubs of this year and I did like a forecast according of what he has been doing and it was more than the requirements... I have till Feb 29 to submit my evidence.
My question is should I wait till my husband submit this year income?, the year to date he have is more than the requirement which it was close of I expected or Should I look for a co- sign?

I was in the same situation. I sent more pay stubs of this year and added a co-sponsor in the response.

I think it's better to find a co-sponsor. We included an employment verification letter from HR with the amount of annual income on it in our initial application. But we still got RRIE for lack of income. You can find more details on our case in my previous posts.

I received the RFE in mail yesterday and sent a response today by Express mail...

We had submitted our joint married Tax return from last year FY18 (2018), but they asked for W2s from my wife and signed I-864.
So the package i sent today had
                              -- W2s from my wife
                              -- I-864 signed by wife

                              - Her tax return from 2017 & 2016
