  • Interview Was Scheduled

    Hi folks,

After a year and three months waiting, my interview was finally scheduled. This has been 4 days already and I haven't got the notice yet. How long should it take to come?

From what I've seen on the forum, it usually takes about a week. If you are really anxious, you can call USCIS and speak to a Tier 2 officer and they will know the date. That's what I did.

I received my notification that interview was scheduled 2days ago, and I’m wondering if I should call USCIS tomorrow just to be ahead of it.
Any advice on what time should I call?

I'd call early. You have to speak to Tier 1, and get them to let you speak to a Tier 2 (they will resist this and insist that Tier 2 doesn't know anything more than Tier 1 does, which in our case was definitely incorrect). At least when we called, the Tier 2 would speak to you only by calling you back after a certain time (in our case they said in 5 hours, which was pretty much when we got the call). Not sure if you need a good excuse to get to Tier 2 - we had a vacation out of the country during the time frame that we were anticipating our interview might be scheduled, so we needed to know the date asap in case we had to modify flights, hotels, etc. to get home earlier. Fortunately, our date ended up being scheduled after we got back (Aug 13!)

Can't you wait a week? Most likely your interview will be 5-6 weeks after the status change.
If everyone calls after they receive a status change, then all those officers are only working on the phone instead of doing something else.
What USCIS should do, is let people see their letters in PDF format online, that could save them millions of minutes in phone support.

Ours took 6 days to come. I think you should wait 8 days and if hasn't come by that point, then engage in the headache of calling them. It felt like ours was taking forever from the online notice to the actual letter.
