I got married to my girlfriend (a US citizen) last month and we’re preparing to file for green card. I had changed my name in my home country and came back to the US with a new passport. The name didn’t get updated with the SSA(I tried), so I’ve only my passport with my new name. Now I’m out of status and can’t update the name with SSA. She has adopted my last name and her SSN has been updated. Do you foresee a problem with my new name change reflected in only my passport?
