My sister sent out the package and today I just found out the employment authorization form wasn’t sent with the I485, she only sent that form and I130 . I’m in the New York area and it shows my application will take about 22 to 30 months, I have 5 kids with my husband and wanted to be able to work to help lift the burden off his shoulder with helping out with bills. I feel so disappointed that depending on my sister she didn’t even send out that form which would have been beneficial while I was waiting. I’ve been in this country since 2002 undocumented and was looking forward to having a employment authorization so I could work.

Sorry about that, it can be really frustrating hoping that you’d get your ead soon but to find out it wasn’t filed at all. The good thing is you can fill the form and send it with your I-485 receipt notice. There is no application fee for I-765 because of your I-485. Good luck.USC Spouse, Dallas field office

Why did your sister send the application?
Is your case family based because your husband is US citizen?Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center

It won't pause your case. There are people that get the GC and never get the EAD. If filing work authorization paused the GC process, then there would be not cases like those.Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center

Yes, you need to follow the form instructions, send all they ask and instead of payment, send a copy of the I-485 receipt.
You can file form I-131 too if you want to travel abroad before you get GC. Some people don't plan to travel but file anyway (free too), some will not want to travel until GC on hand.Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
