I had my interview yesterday in Houston field office. Our background- Pd June 2018. Married for 5 years, we have one kid. Have joint bank accounts, house. Filing joint taxes for last 5 years. We both have good job.
Officer was very friendly and nice. She took us to her office and asked to share all the documents that we want to submit if they were not submitted earlier. I gave her medical package. I told her that I think my previous medical package might be expired so giving new one. She was ok.
She asked us to take oath, the took my pic and finger prints.
After that , she asked my wife petitioner the questions from i130 - her name, dob, home address, her parents name, wedding date, how many time married, where she work, etc. all good
Then she asked me same questions about be and then went over yes and no questions from 485. All good.
Then she asked me on what visa I arrived. I got confused here because I thought she was asking me on which visa I arrived first. I said L1. Later when I came out of building, i realized that she meant last visa. I should have said h1. My background I came on L1 initially in 2004 and then moved to h1 in 2008. Since then I am on h1 only. My bad.
Then she asked if I went out of country recently. I said yes. Gave the dates , shared copy i94 and travel history. She was good with that.
Then she said that my wife has to sign one form related to sponsorship. I said that I filed the 864w because I have enough points to self sponsor. My SSN statement reflects that. She was ok with that.
Then we showed some pics our marriage and son. She said where is son. We told that he is in daycare because it was mentioned in letter that bring kids only if requested. She said parents still bring the kids. I was not sure if we did the mistake by not bringing the kid.
At this time, she said that she has everything that needed for reviewing the case and gave us the white paper. She asked if we have any questions for her and we said no. My mistake!!
She took us outside and that’s it!
Later in the evening, Status changed to interview was completed and my case must be reviewed.
I wished I would have questions about approval. Wait time starts now....
Thank you for reading! All the best !!!
