  • I-485 filed and receipt notices received, but no biometric notices yet

    Hello forum,

I am an EB based 140/485 concurrent filer.

Attorneys submitted my application in the last week of July. I received the receipt notices for the 485 applications for both primary (myself) and dependent.

I haven't yet received the biometric appointment notices. I see here that a lot of applicants receive their notices in approx 2 weeks and then the actual finger print appointment ~1 month after the initial application received date at USCIS.

Am i still within the expected timeframe to get the biometric appointments or am I delayed?

    All advise is welcome!

It can actually take 2 months to get the biometrics.... but yes most people get it way sooner than that. If you are worried about it you could give them a call but they probably wont do that much since it's just been a few weeks.

We got the biometric appointment letter exactly 3 weeks after USCIS received our package. The appointment was 2 weeks after receiving the letter (5 weeks after they received the package).

After reading many posts, I think what happened to us is pretty standard. Some people get everything a few days faster and others take 2-4 weeks more than the 'normal' time.

When did you receive the receipts? I think we received the biometric appointment 8 days after the I-485, I-765, I-131 receipts.

Did you call and talk with L2 officer? It's not normal and there is no way online to see if they sent the letter. If the mail lost your letter they could deny your application.

I filed March 5th, 2019 and received notice by May. It has been 5 months and biometrics are not done, yet. I am on EB3 ROW. I have talked to tier 2 officer, he said it is taking longer, so don't worry. It is taking some time, be patient.

OK. I will wait for the 30 day mark prior to giving them a call. I believe that is the standard wait time for a notice.

Yours is exactly per the standard timeline (info I gathered after reading several posts).

USCIS received my package 7/26. I got the receipt notices 10 days later. I assumed the biometric notice would follow that same week.

I will hit the 3-week mark this week so I will keep an eye out.

Wow, that is a very long time for receipts and an even longer time for biometrics.

Are you located near a super busy field office?

Texas Service Center. I have no idea what is going on. Tier 2 officer was not helpful, other than giving me the same info I can get online.
