Hi, I had my i485 interview yesterday.
My i485 is VAWA based. VAWA Approved in february.
A pro bono attorney handled my vawa but when it got approved i no longer qualified for a pro bono attorney, so i hired a different lawyer (with really good reviews).
When filling out i485 app, i told him about all the changes (employment, address, etc..)
yesterday at the interview, io didn’t know i used to use my husbands name (even though it was written in my vawa app) she also didn’t know about one of the addresses that i specifically mentioned to the lawyer - and it was in my vawa app as well.
She somehow didn’t even know about my employer (i work as a subcontractor - paiting) even though i’m 300% positive that my lawyer was writing this information down as we discussed this job of mine afterwards.
Also, she asked me if i had any criminal records or anything like that - which i don’t. Then she told me, that even a PARKING TICKET counts. I had to specifically name every parking ticket i have ever gotten in the us (been here for years) despite telling her that all of them are paid for and i’m not sure i remember every single one of them. No one ever told me i should remember this thing. So she changed the answer in my i485 from “no” to “yes” when it comes to convictions etc - and wrote down i had 2 paid speeding tickets and one parking ticket. All paid for.
she also asked about my employer - apparently that wasn’t n my application either even though i’ve been working for him for the past 2 years as a subcontractor.
At the end of the interview, she only told me that she wants me to be aware of the fact that she made 5 changes to my application and they had 120 days to make a decision and that if it’s approved i’ll receive a mail with a “welcome to the us” letter.
My question is, can this slow down the process or cause any complications? Everything else went well, she didn’t have any additional questions to my vawa or my marriage or anything. The only documents she wanted was work authorization, advance parole, my passport and my id. I had my tax returns with me but she didn’t ask for them.
All the mentioned above i had discussed with my lawyer and was under the impression that it was written on that application.
