Hey folks. Just received my combo card today. Im adjusting status with c9 category. Im in j1 visa before changed to b2 and then got out of status since then before i married my husband and applied for aos. I think it’s almost a year. Has anybody in the same situation who traveled this year? I wanna go back to the Philippines for a few days.

Hey my fellow Filipino.
I traveled to MNL last February with overstayed visa, and used AP to come back.
You don’t need to worry. You’ll be fine. You’ll need to go to secondary inspection though when you enter our airport here. If youre going with your husband, make sure when you guys come back here, go to the US citizen line. Dont split up.
In MNL airport, the airport people might not be familiar with the ead combo card, so they might check it with their supervisor.
anyway if you have question, feel free to ask.

Are you allowed to change your passport to your married name? Our passports are from Mexico and they can only be on maiden name, but there is an extra and optional area that can display the spouse last name.
I have read that some people travel with a copy of the marriage certificate too, that way they have no problems with passport in maiden name and AP/GC in married name. Of course is better if you can change the passport to be the same as AP/GC.Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

Wish I could help you on that part. But, going home shouldnt be a problem. Exiting the country was super fast. They just check your ticket and passport. I think as long as the ticket matches your passport then youre good. They dont check youre marital status. And coming back, they verify your combo card in the secondary inspection.B2; AoS; Same-Sex Marriage:USC
