Question on medical exam

About I-485 Interview - I have a question. My interview is scheduled in October. Based on the latest visa bulletin issued today, it seems like December 2009 priority date is still a very long way to go. So after my interview i just have to wait until my PD is current. Since this will take more than a year based on the movement confirmed by USCIS at the end of the table, what happens to the medical exam i take now? It is expensive and will they ask me to take again since it will take more than a year?

Also, is it normal to wait few years to have your GC after your interview is over as well?

Per My Knowledge you need to have 693 with you at the time of interview in case you have not submitted with the application. if you dont have it or your 693 was done 2 years prior then you sill can attend interview but you will get RFE for the medical. i am not sure though when your PD becomes current you will need that again or not.

All new medical forms last for 2 years (after November 1, 2018).
I don't know what will happen if the medical expires before PD became current, sorry. My guess is that they will ask for a new one before issuing the GC.

one more thing, i was reading somewhere that the I693 form version about to change from this September onward. so please make sure the Physician is using the correct updated version.

No, it is not normal but there are a few cases that this can happen due to retrogression. Sometimes USCIS schedule an interview and after that, the dates retrogress making the GC process take a long time after the interview.

I'm sorry to say that you will need to wait a few months to see if there is any movement. EB2 will advance only 1 week for the next bulletin and EB3 less than that. At that speed, you will have to wait well over a year after your interview.

Your medical exam will last for 2 years, I hope your PD became current before that. Good luck.

Enub4 Hi,

Our interview went well and there were no tricky questions. The interviewer said i am approving everything i can from my end, currently visa is not available and hence case is moved to NBC center now. He said you can call and follow up status after few weeks.

I tried calling them today, and the case status is Interview Scheduled on September. I don't see any further updates.

Is this normal? Why is the case status not updated saying interview completed or something?

Please advice.

Is there a visa available for your category yet? From what I read, they will not approve your case if there are no visas available and the status will not change until the GC is in production.

Enub4 Mine is EB2 Dec 2009.

EB2 for people born in India moved just 1 day from 12MAY09 in October 2019 visa bulletin to 13MAY09 in November 2019 visa bulletin.
Sorry to say that you will have to wait a long time for the date to reach Dec 2009.
