Just wanted to add my case to the tread.
i just received my courtesy letter for I 693 on January 10th 2020 and from reading the others experiences it looks like it should be another couple of weeks for my case to change to ready for interview. Has this been the experience for most here in houston?

        well good luck to everyone

Had our interview today. Friendly officer. First my wife was asked in and he had some questions for her. He asked about our baby and if she is sure that he is mine. I think that was a joke. after 10 minutes it was my turn. he went over all forms and asked me some to check. then after 15 minutes he told us to wait outside and he will check all documents again. came out and told us that our case has been approved. good luck to everyone

Not much news here as I can see. I got my update - see the signature.
I wonder if it was triggered by my EAD renewal application. The new Combo card was approved on the same date when the interview was scheduled. But maybe it's just a coincidence.

I sent mine on September 14th. September 21st I received a text with the case number, the paper receipts came a little later by mail, maybe in 3-5 days after the text message. And on October 13th it was approved.

Anyone here still waiting on their interview to be scheduled? It has been over a year now since my status went to "Case is ready to be scheduled for interview". Hoping to hear something soon.

I had to apply for EAD/AP renewal as the card will expire in 5 months and it takes as long for renewal application to process. This feels like a never ending process - guess Covid delays didnt help. The only good part is that now we will be over 2 years since marriage - so may get a 10 year valid green card eventually. Will see if something moves before the new year.

Hi everyone! Here is my interview experience. We arrived at the office 15 minutes before the scheduled time which was good as they had the security check as they do in airports - belts/shoes/coats off and stuff and there were couple people in front of us.

The officer called us out about 15 minutes past our scheduled time. We spent there about an hour most of which she was taking notes, comparing the original documents with copies they had on my file and so on. We did not have lots of supporting documents: joint account, health insurance, residential lease agreement, one receipt from the place we spent our anniversary at, pet (cat) adoption contract, a couple cards from friends and relatives and photos.

The first she asked us to hand over originals of our driver's licenses, passports, birth certificates and divorce certificates for prior marriages. She was verifying each of our documents with the copies on my file.

After that she asked if we have any documents with us as evidence of our marriage. She asked to hand in each document to her separately telling what kind of document it was. She was putting a sticker on each of them and writing down the description.

We brought a statement from our joint account but it was only for 1 months. My bad, should have thought about longer period. The officer was really surprised - you have only 1 month statement? Yes, I said. She asked to show our debit cards for this joint account. Well, we did not have them with us as we actually use a joint account as a joint savings account and day-to-day expenses are paid from our own separate accounts. Then she asked us to mark with a pen two transactions made by each of us so she could see we are both using this account. This we could do, she seemed satisfied but I was not sure.

My husband changed job since I sent the application and we prepared a new I-864, but she did not take it. The officer only took recent pay stubs, employment letter and the IRS transcript for 2019. My husband filed the 2019 taxes through HR Block and they advised him to file as Head of Household which means I was not on that tax return. The offiсer asked why we did not file Married filing jointly and he just explained that he followed the tax professional advise.

When we came to photos, she asked us to pick from all photos we had with us 3-4 photos for each year of our relationship (we met in 2016), and include at least two wedding photos. When she looked through the photos she asked if we have a photo with our cat, unfortunately, we did not.

After that she asked us to answer why we chose each other, how we met and how things were going on after that, when we were engaged and married.

Lastly, she went over my I-485, the only change since I filed it was my change of job so she wrote it down right in the form. I work as Amazon shopper in Whole Foods so that info triggered her to share with us that years ago she used to work in a cafe with very good food which she recommended to visit and also advised some good pizza place. In general, she was nice and everything seemed to go fine but at the end she just said that if they need anything from me I will be notified, that's it. No timeframe, no white or any other papers.

When we got home I kept checking my case status on personal USCIS account hoping to get quick result like lots of other couples did here. It was in about 4-5 hours after we left the Immigration office when the case status changed to Case Was Approved. I was really nervous about our interview, I thought we might not have enough evidence and stuff, the thing with our joint account and tax return were worrying me but everything turned out to be pretty smooth Wish everyone who is still waiting good luck and patience!
