  • Rfe after interview

hi, i wonder if anyone’s had a similar situation and can help a bit with the timeline. I had my interview a month ago and about two weeks after the interview i got a rfe - new medical (even though my “old” medical was not even 6 months old -from first week of march 2019)
i brought the new medical to my lawyer 12 days ago.. has anyone had this situation? How long after you sent the new medical did you hear from uscis? My online status is stuck on interview was completed and case must be reviewed. I’m kind of freaking out, i’m traveling out of the states to visit family in 2 weeks. I have an AP valid till March 2020 but would still be a lot more calm just to even hear that there is a chance i’ll hear back from them before i leave.
    thank you!

There is no exact time for an update, it could take between a couple of weeks to a couple of months (or more).

Did they mention why you had to send a new medical if your old one was still valid?

No, they didn’t. There was nothing wrong with the original one either. They just wanted a new one. ????????‍♀️????????‍♀️????????‍♀️

I would call and confirm with them. I heard the minute your approved, AP is invalid.

I spoke with a USCIS representative. He said he believed my AP remains valid but he was not 100% sure even though he checked with other representatives because they are not familiar with such case.
My lawyer himself advised me to use the advance parole document. His own words were: if we receive your gc while you are gone, we can mail it to you or you can just re enter with the AP and then come and pick it up.
USCIS did advise me to check in with the CBP about this matter as they are essentially the ones letting me back in. So i’ve sent an email and we see how that goes.
