  • Estimating when to expect an interview in Boston field office

    Hello everybody,

Can someone please help me understand the timeline I am facing?

I applied together with four dependents (wife and three children) for I-485 (together with I-131 and I-765) on September 2018, while my Employment Based I-140 application was pending.

We were summoned for biometrics on October 2018 (in Boston MA).

In the beginning of March 2019 all of us got combo cards.

On March 25 my case (only) has been transferred to local office.

On June 11 my I-140 has been approved.

My young daughter (only) was summoned for biometrics (in Boston MA) once again (05/08/2019).

Did anyone have a similar experience, and can help me with a good estimation of when we should expect to be summoned for an interview?

    Thank you

After reading a lot of posts for a year now, I can tell you that one thing impossible to estimate is the interview date.

I hope you get your interview soon. Is your PD current?

You need to plan to renew all the EAD/AP cards. I read that for EAD you can start 180 days before expiration and you will get a 180 extension. For AP I think you can do it 120 days before expiration, but some people report only getting EAD and not a combo card even if they start the renewal less than 120 days before expiration. The renewal is free while your I-485 is pending. Good luck.

      Thank you Enub4,

      Your tips are much appreciated.

      My PD is current.

Does anyone have an idea why only my case was transferred to local office (and the cases of my dependents were not)?
r maybe they transferred all our cases and simply didn't update the status of my dependents on the portal?

Does anyone have an idea why they summoned only my young daughter for a second biometrics (and not the rest of us)?
And BTW, she already had a combo card at the time, with her fingerprint on it.

      Thanks again.

They may have sent all the cases but only yours updated online. That happened to us with the biometric review, the dependents didn't update. Our lawyer told us that our interview, most likely, will be for all but they can set different times for each of us.

Sometimes they do that. Maybe a finger is not 100% clear.
