  • Medical Exam

    Hello All:

I am April 2019 filer. My medical exam (I-693) was completed and signed by a doctor in May 2019 but I never submitted it to USCIS, I was planning to submit during an interview. However, recently in September 2019 new form for I-693 was released by USCIS. Here my question is whether I have to redo the medical exam with a new form or can I still submit the signed I-693 form during an interview? I appreciate your suggestion.

The form need to be upto date when they receive it not sure if they will accept it cause for them to add a new form it means that they may add or remove information that they need or not. I would say to redo it just to be on the safe side and not slow down your process
May 02, 18 - File all forms together
May 02, 18 - Finger print fees received
May 06, 18 - I-765 Return for missing signature and was mail back out same day
    May 11, 18 - I-765 Received
    May 18, 18 - RFIE
May 29, 18 - Both finger print done
    June 5, 18 - RFIE Received
Sep 21, 18 - Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview
    Sep 21, 18 - Interview Was Scheduled
    Oct 31, 18 - Interview complete
Jan 18, 19 - EAD New Card Is Being Produced
Jan 25, 19 - EAD Received in hand

I read conflicting information about the validity of the medical exam but the latest I have read is that it HAS to be submitted within 60 days of the surgeon signing it.

robec the 60-day reference is when it is done before filing I-485. After filing I-485 the sealed envelope is valid for 2 years.

berbero I can't find information here https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/...rt-b-chapter-4 about your situation. What I would do if I were you is: go back with your civil surgeon, explain the situation, bring the new I-693 and ask them if they can transfer the information and sign it/seal it. I have read that some doctors will do it for free and others may charge you a reduced fee or full fee.
