RFE for notarial certificate of birth (Chinese born), did a bunch of research over the weekend and very confused. Originally submitted medical certificate of birth in Chinese and certified in English. If USCIS asking for Notarization, is it to notarize the English translation or to the content of original certificate..the latter seems need to be done back in my hometown which my Chinese ID has already expired 3 years ago.
      Anyways, good luck to all!

yesterday I went to my biometrics appt in Pittsburgh and the staff was really friendly! And, much to my surprise, I got a notification saying that my review was complete not even after 2 hours of me leaving the appointment. Yayyyy! Does this mean my process is going fast? Also, how common is to get RFEs after the biometrics?

            • Not really, mine was updated on the system too before I even reached home from my bio appointment. You could still get a rfe but that’s if something is missing from your package etc. some people think getting rfe’s are the most horrible thing but I think it simply means an officer is currently working on your documents. So if you get one the faster you send the reply to them the better. Just my opinion though.

I consulted an attorney and he said no, only the I-485 processing is affected.

I agree with you. I'm glad to know they reviewed my package already and better still that it was not denied. I just wish the RFIE would arrive in the mail already so I can send them what they want and get on with it.

I consulted mine also, and she said she doesn’t really know. I’ve read different forum threads on here stating that it will effect the I-765 processing, and others say it doesn’t. Same with a ******** group I’m in, it’s very mixed answers and it’s frustrating. Seemingly it’s not a straight forward yes or no. Is your attorney confident that an RFIE doesn’t effect it?
