But since you decided you wanna change your name on the new passport you’ll get, you should now search how to update or change name ok your application after you get your NOA letter so you’ll have case number already. Im not an expert haha so this is just my suggestion/opinion.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR RESPONSE! A bit more relaxed now

As long as the information you provided on your application was true and correct at the time of filing, you are fine. I would probably update all of your ids, banking, etc to reflect your new name once you have it changed for the sake of consistency.

Also, and probably most importantly, double check on the uscis website for name change procedures. I’m assuming you are the beneficiary, so there may be a form you have to file with uscis for name changes (after filing your application) similar to alerting them about a change of address. If i can find any info, i will post it.

Maybe others will chime in, but hope this helps!
          thank you!!

We haven’t received ours yet either, which seems like a good sign since we have the same timeline - my guess is that the system hasn’t generated appointment letters for our PD yet. Also, even though our PD is 10/7, my online case status shows fingerprint fee was received on 10/16, and that puts us about 3 weeks out.

The number I called is (800) 375-5283. The beneficiary needs to be present to give the officer permission to speak with you about the case. Please let us know what you find out!!

So I had to call USCIS today for a different issue (realized my hubs current status was not listed on our I-130 receipt notice under “Class” — it was blank)... anyway, also asked about Biometrics notices and the officer said it is taking closer to 2 months now to receive... so stay positive everyone!

Thanks for the update didoesque. Is there any combination of keys that we can press after calling to directly reach an agent? The options just never seem to end for me and I just keep going back and forth with the menu options.

                              Howdy All.

FYI - If you're doing biometrics in Baltimore they do accept walk-ins. You may not succeed on your first attempt but they'll let you know the best day and time to come back.
