So we just called in the EAD expedite request. Hopefully they'll send the email for the documents by next Monday and at least this will go smooth and fast for us. Sheesh!

Fingers and toes crossed over here.
        Good luck Trini!
It would be interesting to see if the expedite request would just push the overall progress of your case forward as I have seen instances where cases have been made ready to schedule for interview (and interview being scheduled in some cases) a few days after the expedite request has been put in.

          • We had our interview yesterday. It was draining. We're a same-sex couple and the IO was definitely focused on that. We were asked why we didn't marry men, if we've ever dated men, how/why is it different being with a woman, how do we know we're not just best friends instead of a romantic couple? Other than that very few questions were focused on our relationship. The IO wasn't very interested in the documents we brought but did admit we were well prepared so that was comforting after everything. The entire interview was over an hour.
We received notification later that evening that the conditional GC is in production which is fantastic news.

                  • We filed Green Card through marriage (forms 485, 130, 130a, 864) on 10/31/19. Our interview was yesterday 2/19/20. Our 485 status reads, "New Card Is Being Produced." The 130 status reads, "Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed." What does it mean if 485 says "New Card" but 130 says "Case Must Be Reviewed?"

Congrats! I’m a little bit jealous, but I’m glad to see movement at SF office. Please tell us a little bit more about your experience, was crowded? How many officers were doing interviews?. Thanks in advance and again congratulations ????

That's exactly right. It's don't ask don't tell regarding your immigration status at first. Go about your process of applying for a job you qualify for as usual. Phone interview, in-person interview and all that. Then they call or email and say we're interested. And of course you are too. The offer letter usually comes next, usually by email these days. And voila...

Once your combo card is in hand you can start the job if they are holding it for you. If they couldn't wait around for you, it's back to sending resumes.
