That's good news GokuSuperSaiyan. That's progress! Sounds like an April interview to me too. Are you ready?

Today I received another I-797C form for the I-131 that was filed 10/10/19. The notice states that his fingerprints from 11/12/19 would be used for the I-131 application. Hmmm... Okay. Well that's still progress. So I'm feeling good.

Thank you Trini. Yes I am ready but obviously need to gather and organize all the evidence that is needed for the interview.
I got a similar update for my I-131 application last thursday and I see a letter from NBC on my USPS informed delivery app. Its a little strange but I think it might be a new I-797C for I-131.

There will definitely be another better update for you, hopefully just around the corner. I know that you are expediting EAD for your husband but what is the current status of the I-485 application?

Welcome! Our PD is 10/7 and we are still waiting for a status update as well. You can always call USCIS, but my guess is since we are still well within normal processing time, they will most likely tell you to wait.

I understand how difficult it is but you’re not alone! Stay positive and fingers crossed that we both hear good news soon!!

Hello Petunia1502, what was the rejection reason?

                      • It was because the expedite wasn’t an emergent need.

                        • Hi All,

I was scheduled for interview on 03/04/2020 in Los Angeles County Field Office.
I do not reside in California anymore as my husband and I recently moved to Colorado.
Anyway, we still flew to California to attend the interview. My appointment was at 10:30AM.
At around 11:15AM, the IO called for my name and advised that he cannot conduct my interview today because he has not received my I-130 file yet (I did not file concurrently).
He gave me a letter where it says in there that there was a new processing procedure effective June 30, 1997 that require that my permanent immigrant file be available at the time of my scheduled interview. The IO said that he requested my file but did not reach the office in time for my interview. The IO kept apologizing that they did not notify me that they cannot conduct the interview. He said as soon as he receives the file, I will be rescheduled immediately. I mentioned to him that prior to receiving the interview letter, I already made a change of address and received mail confirmation from USCIS that my records have been updated. He acknowledged it and advised that my files may have been/will be transferred to Colorado. We thanked the IO and left.

We were not really upset because we were kind of expecting that there's a chance we may not be interviewed due to our change of address. We were just not expecting that it is because my Field Office did not have all my files. Anyway, I am in no rush in getting the GC. I am just happy I have my EAD and SSN at the moment. If I have to wait for another 6 months to 1 year, so be it (but hopefully not ).

I also just want to add that while we were in line for the security checkpoint, one of the security was talking to this lawyer who was in line. He said that USCIS is planning to implement a strategy where they make one week very busy and the following week a little slow. So they will be alternating their weeks as busy-slow-busy-slow, etc.

I will keep you guys updated when I get my new interview schedule. God bless all of us!

You can apply again if you can demonstrate an emergent need now. But if you don't meet the requirement for the expedited EAD, all you can do is wait.
