Congrats Trini, very happy for you. The expedite request definitely helped the application move along. You should receive the interview scheduled notice soon considering you already received the courtesy letter.

I am still waiting for the interview letter and hoping that I receive EAD approval as well.

        • This has definitely relieved much of my stress and anxiety regarding this process. I was getting frustrated watching December filers get scheduled for interviews, while I had zero updates. I most certainly believe the expedited EAD request moved my process along faster. I read where this happened to others in the May, June and July filers thread and it happened to me too.
USCIS was forced to review my file to make a decision on the expedited EAD.
If you're out of patience and your case is stuck, like mine was, I recommend requesting the expedited EAD request if you meet the criteria.

              • Allowable USCIS Expedite Criteria

                · Severe financial loss to a company or person

You will need to show proof that you will sustain financial hardship if you don’t get your I-765 approved quickly.

                · Humanitarian reasons

If you can prove that you have humanitarian reasons for an EAD expedite, you may choose this criterion.

                · USCIS error

If USCIS made a mistake on your I-765 they may decide to expedite processing of your I-765. You must notify them of the error as soon as possible.

                · Compelling interest of USCIS

If there is a specific interest for USCIS to expedite your I-765 they may do so without you requesting it. (This is extremely rare)

The most common reason for expediting that I’ve seen is for severe financial loss. But, the burden of proof is on you.

Immigration officials have the final say on whether you’ve made your case and if they should grant you expedite.

                • I used my 2019-2020 property tax bill and my husband's job offer letter to make a case for severe financial loss. Where would we live if the property tax bill wasn't paid? And loss of one's sole residence would be a severe financial loss. I also included a market value analysis for my home to show the loss would be very great.

It’s very defeating I won’t lose hope but this is hard! Congratulation to you!!

                              • Received some mail a couple of days ago saying they will use my wife's I-485 biometrics for the I-131 and I-765. Not sure if that counts as an update or if it means anything but I haven't received anything else.

Maybe the RFE slowed down our process
