had our interview today - went well and in my opinion a very straightforward case but no decision yet.
Our interviewing officer said as he was new all his cases have to go through a complete review by his supervisor which could take 2-3 weeks. A bit disappointing that we won’t get a decision today but glad the interview is done and hoping no further requests for information.
And today both I-130 and I-485 case statuses updated to “case approved”
Looking forward to having the card in my hand soon! Has been a long process especially with Covid delays but glad it is all over. Good luck to everyone else waiting for interviews etc
As an aside, we were expecting our interview to be only 15-20 mins as most of the people here have stated. However ours was over an hour. Our case was very straightforward so no difficult questions or anything it’s just our officer was new so he was being super diligent and taking his time going through everything in our forms. Trick is not to panic if something seems out of the ordinary. Every interview is different so just relax and all will be well!

Is there a way to get in touch with the officer that interviewed us? Interview was on 10/15. The next day my I-130 was approved and I-485 changed to interview was completed, but must be reviewed. However that did not show up online till the end of Oct. this is the time when they had a system glitch.
In the meeting the officer said the review was going to happen the following day.
Now, every time we call immigration, we hear it’s within the time frame for Denver and we have to wait. And I’m thinking someone just forgot about it.
When I submit online about the delay we get a standard response
Our records show that your I-485 application is currently under extended review, pending adjudication. We regret that we are unable to provide you with a completion date at this time. We apologize for the delay.
what is your experience? Anyone waiting as long as us post interview for the decision?

I created another online inquiry and this time got another answer: Your case is currently delayed because the required security checks are still pending. We cannot make a decision on your case until we receive the results of these security checks.
One would think that background checks are done prior to an interview. Anyone else experienced that? How long did it take to get the background check done?
Our interview was on 10/15, so it’s been over six months.

You should try reaching out to your Congressperson. (I am planning to next week.) I did this after my lawyer told me that all of his October 2019 cases were approved 4 months and counting while I had not even gotten an interview scheduled at the time (I'm guessing due to this A# mixup). They gave my Congresswoman the same generic response that the case is within the processing time for my field office, but *****ally a few days later I got an update that my interview was scheduled. If you were able to get a resolution some other way, it would be great if you can share. It is very frustrating to have waited this long in the process and watch everyone else get their green card 2 weeks after their interview, only to get past the interview stage and still be in the dark

The interviewing officer said she will approve my case, but USCIS erroneously assigned what is supposed to be my unique A number to someone else and cannot approve my case until it's fixed. Since my case is in the slowest field office in the country (Brooklyn) I'm worried it will sit forever.

I did fill out a standard form that was online with my local congressman and also have not heard back.
I hope you get your approval soon.

Also, if it helps, when I first sent in an online inquiry to my Congresswoman's office, I also got no response. Then I called on the phone and they said their online form is broken (why they still had it active is beyond me) and they emailed me a pdf form to complete and sign so that they can forward my inquiry along, and they were very responsive once I got in touch. It might be worth calling or finding an email address, especially since they might be working remotely and those online portals may not be monitored. Remember these are elected officials whose job it is to help their constituents, and also who our tax dollars pay, so don't feel bad about giving them a gentle nudge if they are unresponsive.

Hello, I'm new here. My FO is Sacramento, CA. My case status has been ready to be scheduled for interview since December 2019... Is there any hope fo me? Anybody knows what is happening at Sacramento FO? I see everybody in this forum with their cards in hand, their interviews scheduled, rescheduled, but in my case it has just been waiting and waiting...

That's what helped shake loose my application and get an interview scheduled (even though they gave the Congressperson the same generic response that the case is within the normal processing time). Your field office times aren't nearly as bad as the NYC field offices, so I don't see why you should still be waiting when from what I can tell, most NYC applicants with October 2019 PD have interviews and green cards already. Your file is probably lost on someone's desk and if it is, the inquiry should pull it to the top. Let us know if it helps. And hoping you don't end up in the position I'm in now where I interviewed a month ago and still just crickets, even with the Congressperson inquiry
