  • Post Interview Notice: Case Is Being Held For Review

We had our interview this morning and it went good. We provided a lot of evidence. However, we did not get approved on the spot and was given a white paper that has a check mark on “case is being held for review”.

The officer said everything looks fine and we should have a result in 30 days. However, on the white paper, it says that the wait can be up to 120 days.

My status online still remains at “Interview was Scheduled”. It hasn’t even been changed to “Case Under Review”.

To anyone who received this same notice after the interview - how long did you have to wait to get the result/approval? It makes me sad thinking about having to wait up to 120 days. Hopefully I wake up to good news tomorrow.

I have been waiting for 2.5 months now (and stressing out that something’s wrong!) but people have commented on my previous posts in this forum and apparently 2.5 months is nothing. There are some that have been waiting for a year after the interview no changes to the case and nobody tells them anything. So i guess what i’m trying to say is try to be patient and if it takes longer than the officer originally said, don’t panic. Who knows, maybe it’ll only be a week

Thank you for your input. I hope you get approved soon.

I have a friend who got the same notice, but was approved the following day.

      Hoping for the best.

I hope we get our approval asap.

Do they update cases on weekends? Or only during weekdays?

It’s hard but try and focus on something else for 3 days . I back and check online . I didn’t receive no white paper . The IO didn’t tell me I was approved or otherwise but later on after some days I found out I was approved same day . I checked the Uscis account . The case tracker didn’t update until after the third day but all this while the main Uscis account was bn updated .
I pray you get some good news

^ thank you for the uplifting response. My interview ended on a very positive note. The officer even congratulated and shook my hand, although he did not mention that I was approved. I will continue to pray and hope for the best.

I was approved on Oct 30 and the USCIS site still says the old status. I called the Level 1 support and they said that approval mail was dispatched and the system may take time to reflect the status.

So I think you should stay calm, easier said than done.

We had interview last Monday (10/28/19) in New Orleans, LA and it went well. The IO said "I went through all of your documents and I am happy with whatever you have submitted and I do not see any reason not to approve your case." Since we took more documents to the interview, he said "let me go through this and unless there is any major inconsistency and I am going to have to need additional information from you, I will send you an approval notice and a week after that you will get you green card. In the meantime, within a couple of days you can see your online status being changed." I have been checking my online status and I am not seeing any changes and I have not gotten any letter yet.
Does anyone here have similar experience?
                    Thank you.

USCIS check case status has not updated at all this week (beside postal info for EAD). If you want to do know about approval, it makes sense to do a myuscis account.

I have a MYUSCIS account but the status has not been updated there either.

                        Hoping for the best.

myuscis account is worst for me, I already have my EAD but there the status says that they do not need anything form me and they will let me know the result. Now for 485, it is showing the same. USCIS case status is also not updated. Both level 1 and Level 2 support says my 485 was approved on Oct 30th. Desperately waiting for the postal mail. Maybe Monday I can expect.

Anyone else see the myuscis not getting updated?

My lawyer said USCIS online tracking has been off for a while.

Btw - How do I reach a level 2 USCIS support? Which number to call?

Hope we get an update soon.

Ask the level 1 that you need to talk to level 2. They will provide a number and then within the day you will receive a call from Level 2. The process is neat.
