Just wanted to share our interview experience last week - it was really quick and I would say it lasted only 10 minutes. We front-loaded the officer with a lot of evidence so I think that helped a lot. Out of all the evidence we brought, the officer only took the 401K, statements from our 2 joint bank accounts, joint tax filing, rent lease, rent insurance, vaccination certificate of our dog which has both of our names on it, electricity bills and internet/cable bills.
The officer was initially stern but his mood changed and he got a lot nicer after reviewing the additional evidence that we brought. He then asked us questions such as how we met, names of our family members, when did we get married, who went to the wedding, when our first date was. Then he proceeded to ask us questions from the I30 and I485 which took only about 2-3 minutes.
I did not get approved on the spot during the interview last week, but was approved yesterday. Hurray! Total processing time for me is exactly a year, when normally it is 1 year and 6 months for my field office.
My advice for everyone who are about to submit their application or who are waiting for their interview is to gather as much evidence as you can for the interview and if you can actually submit EVERYTHING with your application then that’s even better.
This community has been very informative and helpful and has provided so much support while I was waiting for the interview. I’m so lucky to stumble upon Immihelp! Please always stay positive and be hopeful and best of luck to everyone who are waiting!
