  • Biometrics appointment notice not received since July!

    Hi guys!

    My complete concurrent filing package has been received by USCIS since 07/26/2019 and I got text messages confirming the receipt 07/29/2019 but a notice for my biometrics appointment date has not been received so far. I called and spoke to a representative who said my case is still at NBC and there hasn’t been any updates he could see on their systems. My husband and I are worried as other people on this forum had their biometrics notice received within a month. Is this normal and is there anything we can do?

    AOS concurrent filing sent by mail to uscis - 07/19/2019

    Text message received from uscis - 07/29/2019

    It actually look 5 months for me to get my biometrics.... and multiple phone calls to USCIS. I finally got to talk to a Tier 2 officer who told me this: "Because the processing time at your field office was so long, they were waiting to have me do the biometrics because the biometrics has a specific time limit".

    Now, I dont know if this is even true, every time I speak to someone at USCIS they seem to give me different explanations. I can tell you though that during that phone call I specifically asked about doing the biometrics for the I-765 and I-131 and that got things rolling..... here is my timeline:

    - applied with my US citizen husband: I-485, I-130, I-765, I-131
    - application sent April 19th, 2019
    - money withdrawn from credit card April 29th, 2019
    - received I-797 April 30th, 2019
    - then nothing for a long time, no biometrics. Called USCIS 4 times and finally talked to Tier 2 officer.
    - notice for biometrics appointment received September 1st, 2019 ---> but specifically for I-765, not I-485
    - biometrics for I-765 completed on September 9th, 2019
    - EAD card processed and mailed within 1½week
    - new biometrics appointment noticed received September 20th for I-485
    - biometrics for I-485 completed on September 30th, 2019
    - around October 3rd status changed to 'ready for interview'
    - October 8th, 2019 status changed to 'interview scheduled'
    - October 14th, 2019 noticed received with interview date ----------> November 12th, 2019!
