I-485 Marriage Based Interview before approval for EAD/TP - usual or not?

HI there,

Applied I-130 and I-485 concurrently on June 25 2019 (marriage based to US citizen) and have been waiting for EAD and TP but instead got a Status Update "Case is ready for scheduling of interview" for I-485 application. Anyone else had that experience and is that unusual?

“Case is ready for scheduling” does not mean you were scheduled. It just means they are done reviewing your application for the time being and will keep you posted when you are scheduled for an interview. The status should be “Case was scheduled for an interview” when you are finally scheduled.

Having said that - it does happen that interviews take place before approval of an EAD.

Follow up question ... Any advise on how long it is usually taking between "Interview Ready to be Scheduled" - to - "Interview Scheduled" ... I suppose it depends on the work load of the field office (in my case its Las Vegas - which is one of the most busy ones). But any general idea would be helpful.
