Renewing Driver lisence

Hello
I'm married to US citizen and applying for Adjustment of Status. My B1 visa is already expired(overstay). When my visa was active, I got a temporary Florida drivers license, which is also expired now.
I was told by a friend that when i send my papers and receive an A number, I will be able to renew my drivers license with it. Is it possible?

Nope!

Go to Florida highway safety and motor vehicles website and you can get all the info you need. With expired B1, they would not give you a license even you have applied for an AOS. You can get a license when you receive your EAD. FL has adopted tougher laws since Jan 1, 2010 in regards to issuing driver license
