  • Expedite Request on I-765/I-131 Status Updated

    Hi Everyone,

I'm a September filer marriage based (to USC), and filed I-131/I-130/I-765/I-485 concurrently. On Oct 31 I made an expedite request over the phone for my I-765 for financial hardship, which had a target date of 5 days. Then, the silence kicked in and no response. On Nov. 7th my case showed assigned to an officer. The phone representative were not helpful other than telling me to wait. So on 11/14 I made a secondary expedite request, this time for my I-131 (since it is a combocard). I also made a Service Request online and saw that it was added to my case, but not picked up by an officer. I did not hear anything either by the 19th, with the 5 day target date for my I-131 expedite and took it up to my congresswomen 2 days ago. I faxed in the privacy statement (signed) and added all my evidence with a cover letter.

Today, I woke up and saw a bunch of status updates after the EMAIL I received very early morning. I was supposed to fax in evidence, but then before I did that; I saw that the status changed to completed:

Hi DD1992 from my experience, Status: Completed means that they have done all they can with the request and need your supporting documents. You should have/will be receiving an email containing a fax / mail instruction to send over the supporting documentation for your expedite request.
You did mention that you sent over the cover letter and support to your rep. I would confirm with them that they sent it in. Also, USCIS normally does not update online if they received supporting documentation (at least from my experience) but that the next update would be the decision, whether approved or denied.

    Good luck!
