I'm looking for some advice. I filed the i485 and i130 together in May 2019. I received the letter for biometrics in July 12. Received rejection letter for bounced check for the i485 in August. Checks were sent from different banks and the bank that the i485 issued from I forgot to pre-authorize the transaction so they declined it.
In September I sent back the i485 with a new check and paid the check return fee. End of September we received receipt confirmation with the same PD of May of when the initial paperwork was sent and another biometric appt for 10/22/2019 which we completed. October 12 we received yellow courtesy letter reminding us to complete the i693 but not to mail it in and rather bring to interview if/when one is given or they will advise to mail in i693 if interview is not needed.
The filing situation is USC filing for spouse to adjust status while in USA and adjusted status from a B2 to a greencard holder.
My question are; anyone ever been through this situation whee form was rejected due to bounce check who would like to share their experience, does it automatically puts us at the back of the line to September when they received the updated paperwork with the check that cleared or should we still consider may to be our PD?
I spoke to USCIS and they confirmed May is still priority date because the i130 is what determines the PD and the check for the i130 cleared successfully. But they couldn't give info on how bounce check may affect the process and we're just a little nervous that this may delay us a whole 4 months if September is the actual date they will use.
