  • How reliable is mycase?

    Hi everyone,

So my case has been “ready for interview” since 10/25/19 and I know it’s pretty normal to wait a while after that. However, i have read a few stories on here about how people got rejected because they didn’t show up to their interview (but actually never got the interview date notice in the mail) and I’m really really nervous about that. My husband and I can’t really afford to reapply in terms of both finances and time and I would hate to be rejected because of a mailing issue. I obsessively check mycase to see my status online but I was wondering if that is reliable? Will my status online change the minute my interview date is scheduled? Is there any other way to check if your interview was scheduled without relying on mail? My husband thinks I’m being paranoid (and he’s probably right lol) but I thought maybe you guys would understand where I’m coming from! Thank you!!

If it still says "ready for review", then I believe they haven't issued the interview date yet. If it says "interview has been scheduled" then they've scheduled the interview. Normally, it may take up to 6 months to get the date. However, it generally is issued within 3 months.
        --Good luck--
Good luck. I learned the hard way, I hope you don't have to. Immigration is interesting. Not considered as legal advice.
