  • Work for cash while waiting for green card.

My wife occasionally helps a friend clean homes for cash while we are waiting for our AOS interview. Is that a problem

Is she the beneficiary? If so, does she have an EAD? If not, it’s illegal and not a good idea lest the USCIS finds out. Also probably better not post about it here.

If you are a US citizen sponsoring her then unauthorized work on her part is overlooked , there will be no problem.

I completely disagree with you for your post is somewhat malicious and wrong. It is an unauthorized work, yes, but if the petitioner is a US Citizen, then it is forgiven. I worked for years without papers, went to interview, and was approved on spot. Now I have my greencard.

Overstaying and working without authorization is forgiven for USC spouse, as mentioned by BayAreaCaliAOS. Not for others (like the spouse of GC holder).

My post was wrong but there was no need to assume that I was being malicious. Thanks for that though.
