61 Days and no biopmetrics

Same scenario for me, 65 days since PD and no update on biometrics. Raised a request 18th of Nov but nothing yet.

Thanks for the update. Did you speak to a Tier 2? I guess we just have to wait. Who knows, maybe we’ll both end up doing biometrics at our interviews!

It was a tier 1 but he informed that nothing has been scheduled. I asked him about the status of the service request, he told me that even if they respond to it they are just going to ask us to wait a little longer. Seemed kind of straightforward to me so I didn't bother talking to a tier-2 officer.

I’m not sure. With the holidays coming my guess is that we won’t hear anything until early January. We also have an SR open since 11/15. Given that we both have had RFIEs already, let’s hope we move quickly to Case is scheduled regardless of our biometrics status (though I’m not even sure we can get to that without the bio?)...

I called in today and talked to a tier-2 officer about my situation. He said the biometrics haven’t been scheduled in their system and that having them this late usually meant that they already have our biometrics. Another interesting he mentioned that if the biometrics were missing they would have sent it before or at least along with the RFE.

As a matter of fact, I did indeed have the biometrics taken but it was 5 years ago I did have a couple of EAD approvals via F1 in the last few years. I don’t know what to make of that in a definite sense but it seems possible that I don’t need to have the biometrics done again. The officer said to check back in within a few weeks.

What about you guys? Have you or your spouses have had the biometrics taken in the past?

Thank you so much for this update!! My husband has been on an O-1 visa for several years, which we have had to renew annually (including biometrics at his appts). Perhaps neither of our cases require biometrics then?? Not sure, but given the fact that we have both received RFIEs, our cases seem to be moving along without biometrics, which makes sense in the context of what the officer told you. I am feeling so hopeful after reading this!

Let’s check in when one of us hears something. I may call next week and see if they give us similar info. Happy 2020!

Hey Sohi,

I did get a biometrics appointment was scheduled for today. I did a walk in earlier however. I didn't have any biometrics before, not sure if you do. Try calling them first thing in the morning tomorrow at 8 am and ask to be transferred to tier 2 and hopefully tier 2 will be able to give you useful information.

No updates for us since the RFIE either. I’m getting so frustrated. We are calling on Friday if we don’t hear anything by then. Will keep you posted.
