  • Case is being reviewed

    Hi friends,

It has been a while since I last posted here. I hope you're all doing well especially because the holidays are coming.

So my husband and I had our interview last November 22, 2019 and our status changed to your interview has been completed and your case must be reviewed. I wanted to know how long is the wait time before we receive an update whether it is approved or if we need to submit more information.

For your reference here is the timeline:
    January 10, 2019 - PD
    February 04, 2019- Biometrics
April 16, 2019- E-mail received to fax job offer to USCIS
April 22, 2019- Job offer Faxed
April 23, 2019- Talked to Emma if they received Job Offer
April 25,2019- Called USCIS hotline to get an update
May 24, 2019- Received EAD card (Take note the job offer expired so I had to look for another job)
November 22, 2019- We had our interview (It took 2 hours) On the same day our status changed to your interview has been completed and your case must me reviewed

Up until now December 18, 2019 the status has not changed. I read in some cases that they received an update a month after they interviewed. Any thoughts will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello,
I know it’s not helpful, but they don’t really have a deadline for making a decision.
We had out AOS marriage based interview on July 12th this year and at the end of the interview the officer gave us the letter stating that they have 120 days to make a decision.
The officer told me I should hear back from the in max 90 days, but 5 months have passed and no decision was made. No RFE’s were sent out either.
Every time I inquire about my case they tell me it’s still under normal processing time.
Luckily I have my EAD but not knowing where I stand is really giving us anxiety.

      Hello,

We had our interview last week and were given the same letter with a reason for continuance.
The officer told us that we'd hear back in a month.

      Will keep posted here.

Thought I'd give an update on my case too.
I've been waiting for a decision after our AOS interview that happened on July 12.
Every time I called they kept telling me it's still under normal processing times. About 1.5 months ago I made an online service request, for outside of normal processing times.
A few days ago I got a reply saying my background check is still not complete.
I am so disappointed this is taking so long, especially knowing I have a clean background.

I know the wait might be mentally excruciating, but stay positive.

If your interview lasted 2 hours, it is likely they suspect marriage fraud. If that is the case, you should just plan on filing Form I-765 every year so that you can continue to work. Hopefully, it just got lost in the file room and they will get to it when they locate it again.
This is purely my opinion and does not constitute legal advice.
