  • 2nd time fingerprinting for AOS

My parents had their 2nd appointment for biometrics last week, due to poor quality of finger prints the first tome, and no update yet on the site. They said the technicians stated their fingerprints still did not look good. Will they be called a third time? Obviously since the fingerprint review if complete did not show up their fingerprints did not go through again. Any idea what happens next. Also will this result in a delay of their AOS process?

I have read from multiple users that’s fingerprinting does not cause a delay in the process. People seem divided on this. When I did my finger printing the operator had a spray bottle with water to moisten peoples hands. He said that people with “sweaty hands” give a better printing. If needs be and you do have to redo the process bear this in mind. And press firmly against the scanner as well to ensure every nook and crease is copied as such.

Thank you but does anyone else have any experience with doing fingerprinting multiple times? When will they ask for a police certificate?

I gave my fingerprints on Oct, 2019 and after two months there are still no update in the case tracking system to reflect that my fingerprint was received. Now I am wondering if it's because the quality was bad... Did you see any update in the case tracking system after their 1st fingerprinting?

No we never got an update on the system for their first finger prints in November and now again nothing for their second finger prints in December. So I’m pretty sure the second ones did not go through either. We are just waiting to see what happens now.

The green card has a fingerprint on it, so ultimately new biometrics will result in a delay.

Any updates so far? Did they send you the 2nd fingerprinting request by mail? Did they explain why the 1st one did not meet the requirement?

On my end, there are still no updates in the system.

A green card has a fingerprint on it.

                  Biometrics gathers fingerprints.

Without a fingerprint, a green card cannot be manufactured.

They have to get the correct fingerprints or the case will not move until they do. Every situation is different but without fingerprints they cannot move on with the case. Fingerprints are very important to verify IDENTITY. Do what you have to do when they ask, eventually they'll capture them but fingerprints is a must for case to move on. Goodluck
