Wrong Alien number in EAD card BEFORE adjustment application?

Hey! I just got married to a US citizen and while filling the employer authorization card plus other application forms, I realized there is this horrible error with the Alien number

I am a F1 student currently and received a EAD card because of OPT. however it wasn't until now that I was going through all documents that I realised somehow they gave me for that car MY LIVING MOTHER's alien number.

therefore I dont know how I should proceed with my adjustment package.in this form I can only request a change for error or a renewal for my apon to expire card. I have also read on maybe adding a letter explaining the situation in the case.

I am worried about fees and having my case rejected because of this

If you are filing AOS you can't renew your current EAD. You will need to file I-765 to get a new EAD based on AOS.

In many cases, they will give you a new A number upon filing AOS. My A number changed from the one they assigned when I got my EAD (OPT) and after the company applied for EB AOS.

If I understand correctly you have an A number but that number is not on your EAD. Because you are not renewing the EAD you should put as it was the first time and follow the instructions. Good luck.
