Should I still take I-20 to dmv to make a California real ID card

    I agree with Chouness. The CA DMV website lists the acceptable documents, and OP’s best bet is to use the I-94 with I-20 and/or EAD if he’s on OPT. Otherwise I don’t see other viable options.

    Is OP considered out of status after graduation without approved OPT or a pending OPT application?

    10/04/2019: Biometrics appt received
    10/15/2019: Fingerprints taken
    10/16/2019: Fingerprint review complete
    11/14/2019: Ready to be scheduled

      I graduated in December 2019, and I applied for Greencard in Sep 2019. So I don’t have opt. I have changed my appointment to April, 2020. Hope I can get green card at that time
      San Jose F1 AOS with UC 4 forms
      9/24 2019: Sent 4 forms to Chicago
      9/27 2019: PD
      11/1/2019 : Fingerprints done
      12/13/2019:Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview
      1/21/2020: Interview was scheduled
      2/25/2020 12pm: we interviewed in San Jose.
      2/25/2020 5:00pm: I-485 new card is being produced.

Verifying the ead cards or greencards apparently takes forever if you dont call the Legal Presence Unit of DMV. But anyway, theres no harm in trying so just go try and see.
        I got my real ID in one week from the day I applied for it. My GC is relatively new. So i wouldn’t necessarily say it takes a long time. Probably case by case
