change of address issue

We used to live in San Jose, and according to USCIS, we are waiting for our interview schedule since October 7th (2019). we recently moved to Menlo Park, which changes our field office from San Jose to San Francisco. Apparently San Francisco's waiting time is a lot more than San Jose. (from 10 months average to 17 months). Is it ok to change my address to a friend house so my field office stays in San Jose?

I believe not. They do background checks and you will get in trouble if they find out you are not using your real address. Also, your utility bills, rent lease, other joint evidence that you’ll bring to the interview should reflect your REAL address.
